Maya Found Her Voice on the Stage
A shy student discovers confidence she never knew she had through the school’s performing arts program.
Maya was so quiet in her first weeks that some classmates didn’t know the sound of her voice. Speaking up in class felt overwhelming, and she preferred to fade into the background.
Everything changed when she tried out for the school play. On stage, playing someone else, she discovered she could be loud, funny, even brave. Her teachers noticed the change spilling into the classroom, too.
“I’m not scared to talk anymore,” Maya says. These days, she’s usually the first to ask a question — and the last to leave the auditorium.
